The Face of Bonita Announced

While Bonita and I were in New York a few weeks ago at the Savor the Success "Rock the World Event", we decided to tape a show demonstrating the amount of time it takes to complete an entire skincare regimen. Who is Older, Anita or Bonita?

THIS WAS OUR VERY FIRST BE BONITA SHOW and it was here that we launched our very first contest: Which Sister is Older, Anita or Bonita. I thought I would post our first show here on my blog for those who may not have seen it.

We had quite a few responses and I am happy to say that the majority thought I was younger. Sorry, Bonita. But, at least people thought we were both in our thirties.

Our second contest was to find the FACE OF BONITA. Again, we had a great response and we have chosen our winner. We will be introducing her in our next Be Bonita Show and she will soon appear on our website. She truly represents Bonita Botanicals and in the philosophy that we share. She certainly is an inspiration and definitely empowered.

Skin Silkening Honey & Pear Scrub

One day as I was cleaning my house, I did not have any gloves to protect my hands. When I was finished, my hands were very dry and chapped. I usually use a hand buffing cream and lotion from Avon, but ran out. I really liked this product, but unfortunately, it has not been available for quite some time. Although, I used some lotion, my hands did not feel right. I looked to see what else I could use to help my hands. I had just started using one of our new skin care products called Honey & Pear Scrub. This is a body scrub which I use in the shower. It is absolutely wonderful. Not only does it smell good, it leaves your skin very silky and smooth. One day, I did not put on my body lotion and was surprised that my skin was not scaly at the end of the day. In the cooler months, my skin usually gets dry and flaky even with the use of lotion. Finally, I found something that keeps my skin from drying out and what is even more exciting it come from Bonita Botanicals. I decided to use the scrub on my hands. It worked wonderfully. THE IMPORTANCE OF SUNSCREEN

Did you know that 90% of the symptoms of premature skin aging comes from exposures to ultraviolet light: UVA or UVB from sunlight. This is why you need to use the proper sunscreen and also you need to know how to use it properly.

A good sunscreen should have a SPF of at least 15. What does this mean? SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. This number is determined by exposing human subjects to a light spectrum which mimics the noontime sun. Some of the subjects wear sunscreen and the others do not. The amount of light that induces redness by the protected skin is divided by the amount of light that induces redness by the unprotected skin. This is how the SPF is determined. For example, a SPF of 15 will allow a person to stay in the sun 15 times longer. The person with no protection burns in 10 minutes versus 150 minutes with protection.

Ingredients is also a very important factor in determining a good sunscreen. Our Twitter Challenge to The Ellen Show

I saw Ellen Degeneres on The Jay Leno Show a few weeks ago and she announced that she just joined Twitter. She indicated she would like to get one million followers and so I came up with the crazy idea of challenging her. The Be Bonita Show and the Ellen Show in a Twitter Challenge. We came up with a song called "The Twitter Challenge" song and the lyrics go like this (To the tune of Low):

We are the BeBonita Show, we're on Twitter

You're the Ellen Show, your on Twitter

You want a million to follow you

Well we want a million to follow us too.

My sister Bonita and I decided to sing the challenge in the bathroom. Currently Ellen is doing a series called the "Bathroom Concert Series", therefore, we thought it would be fitting to sing in the bathtub. At the end of the video we announced that if we won, we get to be on The Ellen Show and if she won, she gets to be on the Be Bonita Show.

Do we have a shot in winning this challenge? Probably not. As of the date of this blog, we have 1265 followers and Ellen has 337,000 followers. It seems she gets 1000 new followers for every 10 we get. Can you imagine Ellen on The Be Bonita Show. That would be incredible. She probably hasn't even seen our video and doesn't even know about our challenge to her. She must get thousands of videos and letters each day.

If anything, we had fun doing the video and we are still very committed in continuing until she notices. We just did another one which was filmed at Mastery Martial Arts in Rhode Island. One of the instructors, Mr Michael performed awesome flips. Since Ellen has made some new Twitter words we came up with a few of our own. A flip is called a twip and challenge is twallenge. The name of the latest video is called, "Our Twipping Twedio Twallenge". We had a great time creating these films which can be viewed on our YouTube Channel.
